Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to start seeking pre-natal care with our team?

The best time to start seeking prenatal care is when you feel ready. Every mother’s needs are different and we are ready to address any questions and concerns that can come during one’s pregnancy journey. If you remain unsure of what to do or who to see but have questions, you can always reach out to our team directly for a brief consultation.

What should I avoid during my pregnancy?

There are a number of foods, exercises, activities and treatment techniques to avoid during one’s pregnancy. This can feel overwhelming to remember. Our team is aware of those contraindications and can recommend treatments and alternative options that are safe for you and your baby.

I have heard that certain hands-on techniques can help the position of the baby. Is your team able to help in this way?

Our team of manual therapists provide hands-on treatment that aim to promote better joint, muscle and tissue function in the mother. We are not trained to specifically alter the position of the baby so that is not the focus of our hands-on therapy sessions.

I have had a successful delivery with no complications. Is there any need for treatment after my pregnancy (ie. post-partum)?

There are various physical, hormonal and environmental changes that occur to a mother in the first year post-partum that are often overlooked because the baby's health needs are typically prioritized. We believe the mother’s physical and mental health is just as important during this time given they are the main caregiver of the baby. So post-partum follow-ups are highly encouraged.
